Thanks for all the great recommendations! OK you've convinced me to convert to FLAC.
Now....I just received my ReadyNAS Pro Pioneer 6-Bay RNDP600E 2 hours ago with my four Western Digital WD20EARS 2TB HDs, updated the firmware so it can use the new Advanced Format Architectre 4K/Sector and installed the four WD20EARS in it. So far so good....all disks are reported healthy with ReadyNAS Frontview (whew!). It is resyncing the 2nd disk with the first, guess it will do the 3rd and 4th afterwards. Then I uploaded the ReadyNAS Squeezebox plugin and am playing internet radio now. I think I'm going to LOVE the SBS on the ReadyNAS instead of a computer :-). The next thing I think is to convert my WAV files on my Promise NS4300N to a media\music folder on the ReadyNAS. So I am on the dBpoweramp Music Converter window (compression of "5") after selecting the root WAV folder of my NS4300N which has my WAV files organized in artist\album folders. There are folder.jpgs in each of the album folders as the album cover art. Can someone tell me if I should select the Output Location as "Folder" or "Dynamic" and the pros and cons of each? I'd like to understand what is happening in the batch conversion before I do it. SuperQ, can you explain if I have to "tag" each of my 19,000+ FLAC files individually with musicbrainz or do I install a Picard plugin before I do the WAV-->FLAC conversion so the tagging happens automatically as part of the conversion? I so confused on the tagging part. Thanks guys! Can't wait to do my conversion but I want to do it right the first time.
