For my purposes, AA on every track (with some = VA) is equivalent to Comp=1 on some tracks without AA on every track. What's key for me is that some of the artists on multi-artist albums don't all show up in my regular ARTIST listing. Correct. under this condition it doesn't matter. Complete AA tags = (Comp=1) for some. Just two different approaches to reach the same SbS outcome. I'm agnostic as long as I can get the outcome I want. I always suggest adding comp =1 to posters here that are having problems with their SbS listings as I perceive that as easier than telling them to add AA to all their albums. I realize that one can use mp3tag to create AA from artist field very easily and to add VA to all comp albums as desired. But when a poster is coming here who is just learning what a tag is to begin with, the comp=1 answer seems easier to digest.
