I don't include composer and conductor in the artist list. I keep the artists list for popular music. I use Custom Scan/Browse for classical and have menus for things like: Composer -> Work -> Ensemble Era > Composer -> Work Conductor > Ensemble Genre > SubGenre > Album it works beautifully for me.
