As the Touch seems to continually do strange things with Apple Lossless
(not play, skip occasionally, finish before the end of a song, not
serve my Duet with ALAC) I am considering either:
a) converting my ALAC to FLAC using dbPoweramp or
b) re-ripping my CDs altogether (about maybe 80 albums in ALAC)

My question is this...The Apple Lossless were originally ripped with a
very old version of iTunes, would I get sonic degradation by converting
and therefore would I be better off re-ripping to FLAC properly?

p.s. I'd rather convert as it will be far less hassle using batch but
am primarily concerned about preserving sound quality.

Thansk!
