you are a quick study! is your pgm something that vortexbox does or could include in their distrobution? here's what the autotagger dialog looks like in winamp: http://www.cproskinning.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/Winamp-Auto-Tagger-10952981315.png you can see where in such a dialog, it wouldn't be such a big thing to add checkboxes to the "new info" side, so you could have only the changes applied you wanted for a given field on a per file basis. i realize you are saying this is not something you have in mind, but it is constantly requested by winamp users of the winamp devs over in their forums. being able to edit the "new info" side's fields of suggested changes before they are applied, is a further bonus! it could be something to give you an edge over mp3tag.
