thanks Gary...cant agree with that sentiment more. I'd add to that to make sure your backup copy WORKS. Use FLAC Tester (bundled with flac.exe at http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html) to test your flacs are ok before deciding you have made a successful backup.
It was during a file transfer from one disk to another that I think the Flac files "lost sync" and corrupted.
