* Rant edited out - please see below * I think my tags are quite consistent now. But I have two albums that seem to react differently.
Album: FaricLive 07 Album Artist: John Peel Each track has a different artist. No compilation tag. Flac files. The artists don't appear on the Artist menu, but the album artist (John Peel) does. Perfect. Album: Planet BAD Album Artist: Big Audio Dynamite Each track is by Big Audio, Big Audio Dynamite, or Big Audio Dynamite II No compilation tag. mp3 files id3v2.4 tags. All three artists appear on the artist menu, which I don't want. Under settings: I've got none of Band/Orchestra/Composer in Artists set. Group compilation albums together is set. List albums by band is set. If I set TPE2=Band, I think the second album appears under Various Artists. If I set TPE2=Album Artist, I think the second album appears under each artist (as described above). I assume my real problem is in the tags somewhere, since the first album acts exactly like I want. Is there any chance that the scanner is treating the mp3 album differently to the flac one? M. * Every so often I notice that LMS isn't treating my VA albums like I thought it would. And every time it takes me an age to remember the rules and sort it out.
