It's really a bit tough when you have a server and database that is fairly complete and thorough like LMS and its predecessors. You have to set the media server correctly, and you have to tag your music correctly. Unfortunately, flaws in one aspect can appear as flaws in the other. Fortunately, once you have things working as you want, you can assume the server settings are correct and leave them alone. It's a lot easier when you only have to track down tag problems.
