It sounds like your tags might have been corrupt. I doubt it is your tagging software. It is just often that the tagging software is where you can find out about it, or solve it. Solving it is often as simple as resaving tags as you are finding. It could be the LMS software or any other software you might use. Any player software could write tags. I'm not sure the LMS does, but any plugin could. I really don't know.
