Thanks Garym, I was not aware that it is possible to add metadata to a wav file. Still don't understand why converting from flac to wav only few of them ended up with the metadata since all the flac had the same tags...
About going to wav I share your rant :-). I needed to do it only to process the files with wavgain in order to make them play at a reasonable similar level. It was a collection of different flac files from various CDs i wanted to collect into a VA collection. Once I have levelled them up I will convert them back to FLAC. ... and in case you wondering why I am not using just the level tags, that is because none of the players in my home beside the squeezebox can adjust the volume based on those tags.
