And on the original topic i tested with single flac files puddle tag and
added qutes to a date tag in an album "1975" .
It worked year showed fine (LMS 7.8 beta ) .

that's most odd, though: quotes around the REM DATE in the cue file do
not work fine, for me, at least not here on my 7.8.0~135367
Are you talking about an embedded VORBIS_COMMENT tag in the flac, or in
a .cue file?
However I do think it is an anomaly the year is not a text string . LMS
provides a workaround in this case . As i said before normally ripping
apps like eac or dBp does not quote the date tags or year tags
Oddly, XLD treats it as a string, e.g if it gets month/date info from
e.g. MusicBrains, it will happily create, for example:
REM DATE "2013-01-21"
which clearly does need to be treated as a string. Of course, LMS
doesn't understand it.
Were there a "standard" for cue files, I could point the XLD dev to it,
but...
