Not looking good for a quick and easy solution then after reading these articles.

Maybe best solution is to see if the RD db tables can be amended in structure and then design a php http based database tool, initially outside of Rd if needed quickly, then maybe incorporated into it at a later release!

Should be able to design a php form to allow the updates by volunteer level skills and with it's multiplicity of interfaces to different types of db's and coding maybe even give one some connectivity to freedb.org or muscibrainz as well.

for what it is worth my additional $0.02.

Likely have to be someone with php coding proficiency as everybody else is likely busy keepin' on keepin' on just keeping track of changes with no hard copies on the shelf to refer to.

As for the Microsoft Access usage, I think we could have a web tool for all those specific Rivendell mysql usage, though, I don know where to begin its architecture..

ORACLE bought out Sun, and some of the coders/developers that
    supported
the original OpenOffice project weren't happy with the new thrust to
charge for premium add-ons, hence their desire to leave and start
    up the
    Libre-Office project.
