Most of the large groups and stations across the country that are music-intensive HAVE to have COMPLETE control over the placement of elements in a log. There CANNOT be an "it will place it over an element" or "it will place it where it feels like it".
In my case I have to have a jock bed fire with a voicetrack and then an out of bed liner which goes into the first song in the playlist. For example: 07:00:00001290 401 03:1300 C Top of Hour Kickoff Legal ID with Bed VOICETRACK 07:00:00001290 401 03:1300 C Top of Hour Full Legal 07:00:00001290 401 03:1300 C Flynville Train Last Good Time If ANY of those elements drop it destroys the log completely. To really make Rivendell commercially viable it *has* to have a build-in function to completely control every element of the playlist via the build-in scheduler OR an external scheduler. EVERY other major automation system has this function built into some sort of code inserted in the playlist via the scheduling program. For example this is how to trigger a "soft-branch" that jumps the playlist to the next hour in Scott Studios via the Selector scheduling program: 00:00,*,LI4,DA0011,"LEGAL ID (FM Only)",,00:20, The ",*," is what makes the element trigger the next hour and it functions as a "make next" in Rivendell terminology. The import function should scan for this code in the playlist and automatically understand that the element is to be the first at the top of the hour. Not trying to be irritated here but I'm pulling my hair out right now! Off-topic...can you schedule a voicetrack position via the built-in scheduler? That would be a work-around for me if it can be done. Thanks!
