Most of that setup you need to do manually can probably be done either
with configuration files, or by running programs with command lines.

For the latter, you'll want to write a "Sys V Initscript"; these live 
(generally, though it's distribution specific) in /etc/init.d or 
/etc/rc.d/init.d, and you'll often find a 'skeleton' there which you
can copy for this purpose.

Once you have one, and it works manually, you use chkconfig to make it
run automatically at boot time.
