Since I only have one network adapter in this machine and it has a static IP address, would it be better for me to enter that address in rdadmin, or use 127.0.0.2?

What exactly do you mean when you say “the machine’s address”? Which interface? Dual/multiple homing is quite common in places (think AoIP setups). There are times when you do not want to be listening on certain interfaces! There is also the matter that a mis-configured/failed resolver setup can generate timeouts of a minute or more. Not good in a realtime broadcast environment! For all of these reasons, the canonical “bind the Rivendell services here” IP address must be configured for each host. Real Experience has shown that it makes for a much more robust setup. Cheers! |----------------------------------------------------------------------| | Frederick F.
