Agreed. I have a client running a Dell. I got him back on the air by putting in a standard ATX power supply with the DVD drive disconnected and the machine laying on it's side with the power supply on the table.
I found a used working Dell supply on Ebay for a replacement and I plan to repair the dead supply as a spare.
