unfortunately, it doesn't start from the menu entry in ubuntu 8.04 (works fine on the console, however). i noticed that all kde4 programs have .desktop entries with full path. in addition, i had to remove "%m" from the menu entry, otherwise rkward didn't even come up (i suppose this was true for earlier versions as well, i must admit i just didn't try the menu entry when it worked invoked from the command line...). that is, for my ubuntu 8.04 installation the .desktop file now reads Exec=/usr/lib/kde4/bin/rkward -caption "%c" %i instead of Exec=rkward -caption "%c" %i %m i have built a .deb for hardy including that small fix: o http://reaktanz.de/stuff/R/rkward_0.5.0c-test5-1~hardy1_i386.deb [btw, i'm still using 8.04 only because i didn't want to give up my working kde 3.5 environment for what i then felt a half finished kde 4, which became standard since 8.10. i believe i'm not the only one... however, i'm running two other machines under 8.10 with kde 4.2, which is the first version i think can really compete with 3.5. but for the time being, support for 8.04 should continue.] viele grüße :: m.eik -- dipl. psych. meik michalke institut f"ur experimentelle psychologie abt. f"ur diagnostik und differentielle psychologie heinrich-heine-universit"at d"usseldorf
