It's a PIX 520. Normally I talk to it with HyperTerminal using 96008N1.

I can't get minicom to go ONLINE. I've tried using the -o switch to
prevent it from trying to initialize a modem, I've turned off flow
control, and I've removed all the modem init strings. No luck. I'm not
sure what device to point it at, but I've tried tty0, /dev/tty0, and
/dev/ttyS0, all to no avail. Nothing appears on the screen, and the
lower right corner says OFFLINE. I tried creating a dialing entry, but
it just keeps saying it failed to connect. I know I must be doing
something wrong because the notebook computer is dual-boot, and it works
fine under Windows.

Furthermore, when I exit minicom my console session is subtly hosed.
When I hit Enter I only get line feed, not CR/LF. I have to logout and
back in to make it work right.

Sigh.

Can you provide more details about the problem(s) you had with minicom?
I use minicom daily to access a variety of machines and devices via
serial
connections and it works great. If you tell me what the comm parameters
for your device are, I can probably send you a minicom config file for
it.
