I'm pretty used to doing things from a command line, but I would like
the convenience of "drag and drop". For that reason, I need a file
manager with a dual pane setup (like Windows Explorer) and mouse
support. That means it's probably going to be an X application.
Something with a small footprint like a Tcl/Tk application would
probably be the ticket.

I'm mostly concerned with function. I doesn't have to be pretty. I
tried Nautilus a long time ago. It seemed like sort of a beast and
IIRC, it didn't really do the drag and drop thing. I'll look at it
again. Last time I tried Midnight Commander, it wasn't an X app and and
didn't have mouse support, but it did have a nice dual pane layout. Is
there an X version of Midnight Commander now?

...single pane, doesn't support drag and drop, funky hard to follow way
of showing directory tree.
