In version 5.2 sp3 go to Main Menu, Admin, Event Scripts, Event Script Admin
to set it up. My Senior Systems Administrator (kowtow in his direction) set
it up for me, but it looks fairly intuitive. The script type is E-mail, the
event type is released, and the detail is dialin account. I have an e-mail
address set up just for this, and anything to that address goes to an OHL
(on hold late) folder in my e-mail program. In the body of the e-mail are:
@Firstname@ @Lastname@
@regnumber@

Once a day I check each e-mail in the OHL folder. I go to the transactions
page first to see if the customer has been billed in the past 30 days. If
not, I go to plans to change the next bill date to today (uncheck prorate)
then add a note on the plans page that the customer was OHL. My SSA says
it's not an elegant solution, but it works. No more free rides!

Be aware that Rodopi will also generate an e-mail if a customer who was
manually suspended is released. That's good, since I can make a billing
adjustment if necessary.

My SSA also created scripts for other types of accounts so they can take
down domains who haven't paid, and I can make billing adjustments when they
are released.

Can you share that script and also tell me how to reset the next billing
date. Does it stay the same or change to a new date?

thanks

On a related note, I have an event script set up in Rodopi to e-mail me
whenever an account that was on hold is reactivated so I can reset the next
bill date. If I didn't I'd be rewarding the late-payers with free service.

Hi Eric,

Upon discussion with our Accounts person it was indeed on hold. That
makes sense now, because on the 12th our Rodopi box lost power. This
caused it to get a couple days behind on billing. So during that time he
got put on hold (he was already month behind), then once I ran the
billing cycle to catch up he was already on hold so it skipped him.

Ahhh, so simple haha.

Thanks!
