Does anyone else see the irony here?
No this isn't meant as a flame, but look at it from a different
perspective here. What would happen if the first time someone critiqued
our mud, and said you know what, it plainly SUCKS, we shut it down? What
does that say about the individual doing so :
For lack of a better phrase:
"It's my toy and I'm not going to share it any more"

The Rom archives are a very valid and wonderful resource. To the one
person that said differently, well, I do believe you've learned your
lesson. If not, it can be explained to you further.

This list is one of the best resources out there for ANY rom designer or
creator. What may be "valid" discussion for one is most certainly not
going to be valid discussion for another. Spamming the list with email,
treating ANY list as your own personal code tutorial and help is not one
of them however.

As far as archives go, I shall work on what solution I can come up with
myself, if Dom's set on not bringing them back.

Once again, what may be a TRUE problem to you, may not be to someone
else. However, spamming the mailing list with problems that you're too
lazy to find solutions for online is not one. Most of the questions
asked by the individual above were easily answered by searching through
any variety of methods (one being the now defunct archives).

Whether you used them once or a hundred times (I actually went through
the archives a few times a week myself, looking for how X mud did this
or what Y person said about this), the archives themselves were and are
a GREAT resource. To see them taken offline because of all this, well, I
believe I've made my point clear there. It's a sad, sad day when that
happens.
