As for the aliases thing...  
   
 I'm inclined to go with a variation on LS's proposal.  How about if we 
boil it down to this:  
   
 1. A flag (or maybe a view setting) that says "this room exists only as a 
message distribution point" (i.e. its netconfig file)  
   
 2. New field in either the room record or in its netconfig file that 
dictates the room's Internet email address.  When this field gets set it 
files a new vCard in the Global Address Book.  When the room is deleted it 
files a "purge this vcard" message.  The UI will provide a way to reject 
attempts to set an already existing address, of course.  
   
   
 I hadn't considered the possibility of giving individual users the 
ability to set up distribution list rooms, but it's a possibility.  Even 
just adding the ability to put a netconfig file on your Mail room (hmm, 
maybe that works even now) would add the often-requested "forward a copy 
of every message I receive to [EMAIL PROTECTED]" feature.
