Choices based on individual taste and style may be hard to defend. I may
like tofu and wear sandals to meetings for instance ;-) One approach is to
package model elements according to the services the system provides its
customers. This way changes are likely to be localized to a particular
service package. After all, it is the services your system provides that the
customer pays for.
There should also be a direct mapping between high-level architectural
components and the configuration managed components - especially important
if you are using a component-based strategy (UCM for instance).
Facilitating change control and configuration management should play a major
role in this decision.
