They can play MIDI through it. Requires some fiddling/connecting with the arts MIDI manager but it's possible. Audio was always the "next step" with arts - it support synchronised audio/MIDI (purportedly) but I never got to implementing it. Which is a shame really because that would be quite cool. It's a sunday afternoon/evening/some of the next week job sometime or other. Maybe.
