I've committed some code that's starting to tidy up the slice management stop/start stuff. There's a new DCOP interface called showVisuals(MappedComposition) which we can use to inform the GUI of events worth feeding back to the user - and this will eventually get called at the most suitable place in the sequencer (probabaly a callback from the ALSA seq client if we really know what we're doing).
Just spotted a crash when adding an event into a blank notation view. Also muting doesn't appear to work currently either. I shall try to remember to add these to the 1.0 file bug list in their own section.
