Of course not. I see two options :
1. mmapped "control blocks", on which segment playing related info is stored
2. use the sequencer's DCOP interface, adding stuff like 'muteSegment(segment,
bool)'.
I'd go for #2. I contemplated #1 at some point but I don't think it's worth
the hassle, for quick calls like this DCOP is perfect.
