Trying to untangle something that seemingly doesn't work at all, to the end of making something work that at that point seems to have been created simply to try my patience, is not a particularly appealing option. Hell, I know people often don't report bugs in Rosegarden and I'm sure their reasons are similar. It's frustrating, but it's life.
