I disagree. I think we should do it on a branch and attempt to get as much as possible automated up front. (My current script is not that far off producing a buildable system.) It's not like we're going to be doing it all by hand anyway, even if it is incremental -- there are 866 source files in that listing -- and it's not that hard to establish when we've attained a buildable and functional system.
