Are you sure you're running the right build? All of this is exactly what I would have expected from before I added any of this stuff. Do you have the other new stuff? For example, if you start RG and wave the mouse pointer over the empty segment canvas, do you get a message saying "Click and drag to draw an empty segment" in the status bar?
