EMJ: Yes, certainly. But your question, Chris, in an earlier posting, about
tenor singers not using the tenor clef, was very legitimate, at least in say
mid-nineteenth century. Until around 1800 tenor singers were fluent readers
of the tenor clef, but during the 1800-hundreds singers were less and less
expected to be that well-educated so the general use of the treble clef
ottava bassa began; first with the ottava bassa function implicit and only
obvious from the context, then (especially in Italy) with the double treble
clef, and then finally with the number 8 below the treble clef. But again,
with regard to your question, the tenor clef was created for the tenor voice
since it could notate the whole range of this voice without ledger lines
(C3-F4), so why not use it for tenor parts today?

EMJ: No. The guitar clef is the treble clef ottava bassa (-8). The treble
clef quindicesima bassa (-15) is very uncommon and does not have a special
range name or instrument name as far as I know.
