I'm stumped. AFAICT, the MatrixHLayout and the SimpleRulerScale have 
completely different implementations for getXForTime() (the MatrixHLayout is 
actually a RulerScale here), so fiddling with the values returned by the zoom 
slider won't help. I don't see how to make this work.
