Sweet! It will take some getting used to, visually, but seems to be generally working. It makes me wonder if the velocity tool shouldn't affect everything that's currently selected, instead of acting on one event at a time. That's what I was expecting to happen, and that's what the other tools do. Actually, having the event whose velocity is being twiddled drop its selection rectangle is mildly distracting, and I do think the whole thing should either affect the event in question singly or the entire selection broadly. As to affecting it broadly, this should probably work in much the same fashion as how the the velocity ruler behaved. (Changes to the event being twiddled were scaled onto other selected events as well as possible, and you could wind up running everything all the way to either extreme and leveling them all out.) Not sure if it's your doing, but the new sweep selector box looks cool! The whole thing does make me wonder about having velocity rulers at all. I don't know what you concluded after your long, hard think you just reported, but I think we almost could do away with the velocity ruler and rely on the matrix if there were some visually impaired mode that drew the values somewhere. Not quite sure how that would go over with primarily notation users. I'm one of those, but what velocity twiddling I do from the notation view, I normally just do with the automagic interpreter anyway. It actually does a surprisingly good job of getting it right for a first try. Sorry, this isn't terribly coherent. I'm just blurting out gut reaction stuff and random thoughts. Nice work here! -- D.
