Somehow got the Matrix Editor back.
A little animation when attempting to open a segment in matrix editor
clued me in. Matrix view was there, but invisible. Not quite sure
what I did that brought it back. Minimized all other windows that were
open (email, browser etc.) so as to have a clean desktop to avoid visual
confusion. Then minimized Rosegarden's main segment canvas window. May
have done a few other things in the GUI. When Matrix view appeared, it
was wider than full screen. It was so wide that I had to drag the frame
6-8 times to narrow it until the right edge appeared on the display. I
guess it was so wide at some point that Gnome refused to render it(?),
or may have rendered it in a different desktop workspace? I see that
it's possible for several of Rosegarden visual elements to be placed in
their own workspaces, if the user desires.
So, chalk this up to user error / problem solved. Back to music.
