Carla should read them all.

The advantage of using plugins is that I have one single file to save
and to load. If I save the configuration for each synth I use for a
composition, it will become very long to open or save a project.

My problem is 'one instrument with multiple sounds'.
My actual solution is to use multiple tracks for one instrument. Because
if the different sounds are not in the same soundfont file, I don't know
how to use program changes. But it would be more practicle if I had one
track for each instrument.
One solution I see could be to create a soundfont file containing all
the sound of an instrument with Swami.

The interesting thing with Carla is that it can load all formats of
synths / plugins... So you only have one single configuration file to save.
I know Jack and all the connection things. But I don't find it practicle
to have to do all the connections and file loading each time I want to
work on a piece. That's why I found plugins very useful.

I used Ladish some years ago, but I found to complicated to have a
studio for each composition. And those solutions have shown that they
were still not sustainable.

However, I tried ladish (Claudia) again with Rosegarden and Carla and it
works rather good. It's still long to add an instrument, but the files
are automatically saved and loaded.
Ladish seems no more developed. I'll try NSM when I'll have time to
install it. It seems to be Ladish compatible.

Thanks for the reply!
Anton
