Hi, I thought I would have a go at trying to get RPCemu working on an XP laptop. I've read and re-read the manual but I'm none the wiser about most of it. There must be some more instructions somewhere but myself and google have drawn a blank.
I have installed the application. I have a decompressed rom image of 4.39 4M version. Eventually, pretty much by accident I found the "working directory" and put the rom inside the roms directory. RPCemu now appears to start to boot, I get the StrongARM splash etc. and then I get a green screen with a menu which appears to be from OS4.39. At that point I'm stumped and have not got answers to very fundamental questions. I have downloaded the 1GB disc image but don't know what to do with it. There appears to be a hard disc file in the working directory of zero bytes, do I replace it with the downloaded one? How do I put something in this hard disc file like !Boot? What about file types, how does that work? I'm moving all the files I need to the XP laptop with Lanman98 if that helps. The manual says quite a bit about floppy discs, why? Are they any use now at all or have I missed the point entirely? TIA Cheers, Bob. -- Bob Latham Stourbridge, West Mid _______________________________________________ Rpcemu mailing list [email protected] http://www.riscos.info/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/rpcemu
