Not responded previously as I have no experience with XP. I've just
installed on my linux boxes, so have no idea what significant differences
there may be. However since you've not had other replies I'll make a few
comments in case they help.

I've only used RO 4.02. Do you know that '4.39' (which I know nothing
about) works OK with PRCEmu? Also, when I first tried setting up RPCEmu I
found that it was vital to have a 'clean' version of the ROM images. I'd
initially taken my from one of my old RPCs and it was being patched during
bootup. The result didn't run. Had to boot the RPC without letting it run
though !Boot to get a workable set of images. (And then bought copies from
ROL anyway!)

What processor have you chosen? Or is there no option for this on the
Windows version?

If you've unpacked the image from the zip (?) you can give it the name
'hd4.hdf' and put it in place of any existing 'hd4.hdf' ***if*** you have
nothing yet in the existing hd4.hdf file. It will then be identified as
'HD4' by RO if your emulated RPC has been set to know there is one 'ADFS
disc'.

The best way to deal with filetypes for any transferred RO files is to put
them into a zip at source using something like sparkfs. Put the zip into
the 'hostfs' directory (if that is what it is called on the XP version).
Then when RPCEmu runs you can find them as zips on your emulated RPC in
the host 'disc'. There is a self-extracting program for getting them out of
a zip. Use that to transfer sparkfs asap and that'll make life easier from
then on.

Pass. I suspect they are an artifact of ancient days. Never used any with
RPCEmu. :-)

One general point. Once RPCEmu is working treat it like a 'real' RPC. i.e.
do the same things you'd have to do to make the 'HD4' bootable, etc, etc,
when starting with a 'naked' RPC with no boot sequence or cmos settings,
and so on. I'd long forgotten how to do all that, so have to re-find out!

As above, apologies and warnings since my experience is with the Linux
version and I setup my RPCEmu ages ago. So any/all of the above may not be
so in your case.

Cheers,

Jim
