Merriam-Webster (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/functionality) indicates in its definition that "functionality" has "capabilities" as a synonym. Dictionary.com (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/functionality) uses "capable" in its 2nd definition for "functional". In turn, the 1st definition of "functionality" there references the definition for "functional". Your note indicated that you did not think "capabilities" was a synonym for "functionality".
