As I’ve pointed out before, from my reading of the records it's a well established practice that authorship is an editorial issue not a content issue. For evidence see: 1. This email from a Mr P Hoffman back in 2004 that includes within it an email from Bob Braden for the RFC Editor explaining their imposition of the five author limit [1] 2. This note from the Acting RFC Series Editor, Olaf Kolkman, setting policy for authors, contributors and editors [2] 3. This unsigned RFC Editor statement on authorship from 2015 [3] [1] https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/rfc-interest/xwZbwctVBQpp0U4gxESzc7T4YO4/ [2] https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/rfc-interest/RItBCl-vBcJKluJmNChjP_vIhnw/ [3] https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/rfc-interest/SHM7dHZd_S1a-CkW2JCBvxdKmcs/ Jay -- Jay Daley IETF Executive Director [email protected] -- rswg mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
