Actually, having now read the blog entry fully (and shamelessly self-responding), I can't say I have any complaints about the new stuff. Every item you touch on was a concern of mine, and I frankly can't think of any others. The Perl-ish use of '$' to designate variables still feels odd in a non-programming environment, but it's not enough to complain about. The readability quotient is indeed being significantly raised - in particular, visual and logical blocking have taken a large leap forward.
