Actually, having now read the blog entry fully (and shamelessly
self-responding), I can't say I have any complaints about the new
stuff.  Every item you touch on was a concern of mine, and I frankly
can't think of any others.  The Perl-ish use of '$' to designate
variables still feels odd in a non-programming environment, but it's
not enough to complain about.

The readability quotient is indeed being significantly raised - in
particular, visual and logical blocking have taken a large leap
forward.  Congratulations, and thank you for your continued work!

as far as the perl-ish use of '$', in many ways this is becoming a programming environment, especially if there is going to be the ability to define our own properties (i.e. variables) in the future (something I think I remember reading)

most people won't make use of this sort of sophisticated logic, but for those that do it sure seems to make things much better than they were before.
