Rainer -

I confirmed that this patch did fix the issue in 7.4.4 as well. I have it
running clean in my Dev environment with 7.5.5dev and my staging environment
running 7.4.4.

I'm still up for writing up some documentation on the use of these functions
and variables. But is there a specific layout you would prefer to have it
adhere to? I did see in another thread you seem to be doing some work on
variables, so if I was to write anything up, would it be preferred that I focus
just on the functions listed here: http://www.rsyslog.com/doc/rainerscript.html

The patch is definitely is working well in Rsyslog 7.5.5dev. I'll test it on
7.4.4 on Monday and let you know.

Thanks!

Certainly! I'll grab the 7.5.5dev again from git and apply/test against both of
them.

So far I have not seen any segmentation faults since the original patch, but I
have not had it match properly either. I haven't finished testing to confirm
that it is not the regex I'm using. I'll let you know once I tested against
this new patch and have verified my regex isn't broken.

Thanks again for this feedback. I have now crafted a somewhat "better"
patch. It is available at

http://git.adiscon.com/?p=rsyslog.git;a=commitdiff;h=dc1f81addfd428fca2c8115ebbfdb2e8a26d8375

It applies to both 7.4.4 and 7.5.4.

I would appreciate if you could give it a try (but I may release a 7.4.5 today
which already contains it -- it can't get worse even if the patch has some
hidden problems ;)).

Thanks,
Rainer
