They talk about the issue with  finger pointing at gcc. There issue still
goes unresolved for a year and a half now, but with some workarounds for KVM
and other similar virtulization, , but do not necessarily  work for OpenVZ
due to its lack of less direct access to hardware .

Part of the problem in this case is the application needs the kernel header
sources. For OpenVZ the host and guest kernel headers installed need to be
the same version, which cannot always be done.

If it is a solution, I am interested, if it is none, I am honestly not as
this seems to be very specific to your case and that's nothing I usually do
with free support. Sorry for that.

In any case, you know have *three* problem cases:

- the other app
- rsyslog
- automake/gcc
