the $64k question is "is there a tool to take existing HTML and convert it to
the markup language" or is this a manual process per page?

It's actually looking really promising so far. I've played around a little with
outputting to HTML, Text and man pages. The man pages can be broken out so that
it is not just one massive man page. I'm working on building a theme for the
HTML so that the output matches what we already see.

David -
What I'm working on, if it turns out well, will be the .rst files used
by sphinx to generate the final html documentation. This has no place
in the primary rsyslog repo. If it works as I hope it will in testing,
the outputting html that it generates would make sense to have there,
but not this portion that I'm working on.
sphinx looks really promising (though i have apparently been living under a
log, was confused with the search engine at first), the ability to write once
and output many is great. i guess time spent learning rst in a past life won't
be totally wasted. :-)
