Wouldn't be better to add a patch with: int gethostname(char *name, size_t len); function, somewhere in the code where the hostname is added to log? Is it possible? My environment is not generating a huge amount of logs so it shouldn't be big cost i think?
we would not add this to the upstream as it would be a performance problem on high volume systems.
