Hello Sarbsjit I agree with you that we ought not to be too embarrassed about what happened in Parliament. This is something that we know as part of our political process. This is the first time it was seen on TV, not the first time that it is happening.
And Yes, the action suggested sounds far more harmful than the incident that happened. The original post seems to be written from a flared up mind, flared up by the seen and unseen horse trading reported at the time of the Trust Vote. Getting flared up does not get us anywhere. An advocate concerned about this issue to ought to think of creative legal strategies to fight this. This is difficult and is prone to delays because our Judicial system is grossly inadequate (which is also largely to a large proportion of our Advocates who are professionally comfortable with judicial delays) What are the possible Public Interest Litigations that a responsible citizen can file to protest and demand action? You could ask the Trust Vote to be declared invalid. You could ask for the party that bribed to be disbanded. You could ask for the parliament to be dissolved. You could ask for the Ministerial Births announced to new coalition members overruled. There are a hundred cases that one can file. And there must be a way of pressing for these cases to be heard expeditiously Is the Judicial process so hopeless that Advocates have to call or unlawful assemblies?
