Friends, Since the Front Page is still a new initiative, there have been many
readers who wanted to know what this was all about. So we are re-stating it for
their benefit. The idea behind the Front Page is to give the news and analysis
that is generally rejected by the mainstream media in India as it does not suit
its corporate interests. It is about reality, and not illusion. It is about
news, and not creation. It is about what is, and at times might be difficult to
accept, as it will go against the tide. But the effort is to get the
alternative view point, that in some ways is really the mainstream opinion, to
you.In the current issue we have dealt with the problems facing the army and
unless these are redressed we will have serious problems in a few years on this
front as well; we are carrying a news analysis on the current state of
India-Pakistan relations and at a time when everyone has forgotten Bangladesh,
we have an article bringing out the problems that country is facing as it goes
to the polls.We invite your suggestions and comments and contributions. So

be updating The Front Page every Monday and Thursday. The frequency will
