Dear All, I am very happy that a debate got initiated on the good work done by Shri Shailesh Gandhi as CIC by hiring volunteers for his office at his own expense. You all can see that how we interpret each activity of the govt officials. I was present in the hall at Mumbai, when Shailesh said all this. The media has not brought out the correct picture, in that, he was forced to do this because the lack of staff shall increase the pending files and the RTI act shall become like any other govt department where the cases are decided after many years. *RTI act will, then, die its natural death. He is forcing the departments he is handling to give the correct information in itme to the applicant so that the appeals reduce. This is the aim for a better service to the society.* *I urge the citizens of India to support all such govt officials, not only Shailesh, who are prepared to use their personal resources for better efficiency.* *In my opinion, Shailesh, a young enthusiast, has not violated any law.
