Hi, thanks to Mathias great work we now have an obviously working and (from my first analysis) RT-safe e1000 driver for the Intel PRO/1000 gigabit controller family! Check out latest SVN.
So far Mathias is the only one with hardware at hand to test, so we would like to invite further testers to the party. The driver compiles fine on all basic combinations (RTAI / Xenomai, kernel 2.4 / 2.6), but has only been run on 2.4.32 over RTAI 3.3-cv with plain UDP (no RTmac/TDMA) so far. Anyone with an appropriate system in reach, please give it a try and report problems / success back. Mmm, given that this is now the second GBit driver in RTnet, we should really consider adding support for jumbo frames (up to almost 16K) to the core... Jan
