Hi,

the rxvt-unicode instances on my 2 gentoo boxes lose content since a few
days. Doing linear output works normally, e.g. cat, ls. Text movements
in the upward direction cause problems, e.g. in pagers like man or less
or in more sophisticated ncurses users like irssi.
When I hit the up-arrow or 'k' key in those applications, the terminal
window is cleared, most of the time the first and last line keep in
place. It also happens sometimes that the line that should be at the
bottom of the terminal is on top and the rest is clear.
For illustration I did a short screen capture video of the
situation[1]. The video will just be up there for a few days.
Currently I don't have a concrete idea how to isolate the problem. Since
other terminal emulators don't show this behavior, I guess it's not the
fault of ncurses, but again, that's just a guess.
I do not think that my configuration is causing the problem because I
use the exact same .Xresources on a different system (Ubuntu) and
everything works as expected there.
I would be very thankful for any hints since currently rxvt-unicode is
effectively unusable on my gentoo boxes and I have to use alternative
terminal emulators. And we all know that all are a pain except
rxvt-unicode.

Kind regards,
-Alexander Huemer
