It seems I missed the most important question.

Yes I believe so. This is a great hobby and it is the only hobby
that am into 100%. I built model planes, cars, boats and other
stuff, but it's just not the same. Now when I build a boat or
ship it will be on the layout.
The ship I really want to build is the S.S. Badger in Ludington
Michigan, and the dock and all that. Some day I'll build it,
with a C&O SW-7 to switch out the car ferry and the yard.
